The Roman Empire/Roman And Greek Gods And Goddesses/Greece

The history of the Roman Empire covers the history of Ancient Rome from the fall of the Roman Republic in 27 BC until the abdication of the last Emperor in 476 AD.  Rome had begun expanding shortly after the founding of the Republic in the 6th century BC, though didn’t expand outside of Italy until the 3rd century BC.  Antony was defeated at the Battle of Actium in 31 BC. In 27 BC the Senate and people of Rome made Octavian imperator (“commander”) thus beginning the Principate (the first epoch of Roman imperial history, usually dated from 27 BC to 284 AD), and gave him the name Augustus.

In 212, during the reign of Caracalla, Roman citizenship was granted to all freeborn inhabitants of the Empire. But despite this gesture of universality, the Severan dynasty was tumultuous—an emperor’s reign was ended routinely by his murder or execution—and following its collapse, the Roman Empire was engulfed by the Crisis of the Third Century, a period of invasions, civil strife, economic disorder, and plague.

The first recognized king of Rome was its mythical founder, Romulus.

To him is attributed the foundation of the senate.

He is also said to have ruthlessly pursued a policy of expanding the population, granting refuge and acceptance to criminals on the run at the asylum on the Capitoline Hill.

If Romulus’ reign was infamous, this impression is only further reinforced with an With Rome’s populace enlarged with runaway slaves and criminals, king Romulus found himself ruling a nation with too few women. The story goes that he staged extravagant celebrations for the festival of Consus inviting the neighboring tribes to attend.Greece has a size of50,949 square miles

Greece has a size of 50,949 square miles.  Greece is  roughly the size of Alabama.  The population of Greece is more than 10 million people while the population of Alabama is around 4.5 million.  The number of tourist each year is more than the population itself. The number of tourist is more than 16.0 million.  Greece has more international airports than most countries  in the world.  No one in Greece can choose to not vote. Voting is required by law for every citizen who is 18 or older.    Until the late 1990’s, the greatest threat to Greece was Turkey, as the two nations have had historical disputes over Cyprus and other territory for decades. After the devastating earthquake in 1999 they went to each other’s aid and their friendship has improved.

The USA Community Force

Hi my name is Gavin  and I’m in the Air Force. I create drones and program them too.  I travel all over the world. I sometimes go out and take pictures so my sister, who is a great artist can paint them like a pro, sometimes makes some money and then gives a little to me.  When I travel I get paid because I make drones for them so they give me something I like in return.

When my mom was in the military she got at least $12,000 a year if lucky.  She got to travel to South Carolina, North Carolina, California, Okinawa Japan, South Korea, Hawaii, Mexico and Iwa Jima.  She was also sadly the only female who did her job.  Her rank was Sgt when she was in the Marine Corps.

The Bald Eagle is the USA’s country’s animal that almost every kid knows about, being the USA’s favorite animal (that is over 3-4 years old).  When the Bald Eagle flies it barely flaps its wings, it soars & tucks its wings so good you can barely see them.  Eagles usually eat fish, carrion, smaller birds & rodents.  Females usually have 1-3 eggs.  The female usually lays her first eggs 5-10 days after mating.  The female is 35 to 37 inches, slightly bigger than the male.

The 50 stars for the flag stand for the 50 states and the 13 stripes stand for the thirteen British colonies.

Adolf Hitler Started World War II on September 01, 1939.  It is estimated that 1.5 million children died during the Holocaust, approximately 1.2 million of them were Jewish and tens of thousands were Gypsies.  The longest battle of WWII was the Battle of the Atlantic, which lasted from 1939-1945.  Out of the 40,000 men who served on U-boats during WWII, only 10,000 returned.  WWII ended on September 2, 1945, when Japan signed a surrender agreement on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.  The Air Force was part of the Army in WWII and didn’t become a separate branch of the military until after the war.

Astronaut Story By Talia Yee / Aaron Higgins

Life In Zero Gravity

Have you ever wanted to see the stars up close? Have you ever wanted to feel weightless? If you answered yes to those questions, you might want to have a job as an astronaut.  However being an astronaut is a lot harder than you think.  Not only is it hard on your body, but you need to train a  lot before going into space, and they have difficult jobs to do while they’re in space.

First being in space is hard on an astronaut’s body.  According to source #2, “Astronaut’s other muscles and their bones can also get weaker.” On earth , we run around and exercise with gravity, which helps our muscles and bones grow strong.  Since there is no gravity in space, the astronauts have to exercise every single day to keep their muscles strong and healthy.  So if you see an astronauts headed to space now you know why.

Next we will be doing the training, source #1 said, “they need to learn medical skills incase of an emergency.”  They take  scuba diving classes, it is supposed to represent what it is like in zero gravity.  Astronauts have to train for hundreds of hours and even years. They study space including stars and the earth.

They train for hours studying what to do when something happens.  I think it would be cool to go space, but studying for hundreds of hours, I don’t think it would be worth it.

We will be moving on to the jobs,  “Each astronaut has a special job to do as part of the team.  Some astronauts learn how to put things together so they become good at fixing things.  This is important because, if something on the spaceship breaks they must be able to fix it themselves.  Some astronauts are pilots who know how to fly airplanes.  These astronauts have to study how to fly and steer the spaceship.  Some astronauts are leaders and are in charge of all the other people on the ship.

Astronauts do not have it easy.  As you have read, just going into space can harm an astronaut’s body.  Even before they go into space they have to train for Astronauts do not have it easy.  As you have read, just going into space can harm an astronaut’s body.  Even before they go into space they have to train for hours to prepare .  Once they are in space they have difficult jobs to do.  The next time you see a space shuttle rocketing towards the sun remember how hard it is to do that.

Where My Mom Wants To Go

I would like to visit the Sistine Chapel, so I may marvel at one of the most famous pieces of art ever created. That which I am referring to is ‘The Creation of Adam’, by Michelangelo.
